A grease trap (also known as a grease trap interceptor) is a key feature of restaurant and food service kitchens, designed to trap fats, oils and grease before they enter the waste line. Grease traps prevent these contaminants from entering the pipes where they can solidify and cause costly blockages and backups as well as having a massive environmental impact.

Grease traps are fabricated from a minimum 6mm cast PVC or Polypropylene sheet, up to 12mm thick depending on the application. We have a standard size chart that we can email you, and these sizes are the most common although custom units can be built to size as well as incorporating pump wells and other plumbing hardware if required.

All PVC traps are fully hand welded and the Polypropylene models use an extrusion process. Above ground models are supplied with stainless steel fittings, external galvanised steel supports for reinforcement and a completely sealed lid. Screw cap access covers are often used to provide easy access and create a perfect seal. They can also be optioned with locking capability for outdoor use. Vents, inlets and outlets are all standard PVC sizes for easy commissioning.

Below ground models are usually supplied with Gattic lids or road covers for light, medium or heavy traffic areas, dependant on the use. The external wall face of the below ground models also have provisions for concrete reinforcement rods to pass through the walls.

All grease traps are spark tested (electronic leak detection) before the external welds are made and pass stringent quality controls. Built to last, these grease traps are a more cost effective solution when compared to stainless steel types and ‘off the shelf’’ models available. All of our models are designed to DNS international standards, strictly adhere to EPA regulations and have been approved by many Australian water authorities.
