Football fans kick for cash

SIX contestants will be punting for $3000 cash in the Bendigo Advertiser Kick for Cash at tomorrow’s Bendigo Football Netball League grand final at the QEO.

It will not be an easy task as Adrian Devereaux, Matt Hermann, Shane Jackson, Luke Owens, Ian Symons and Jackson White have just one kick at the Water Store tank from a 40m distance. Bendigo FNL chief executive officer Steven Oliver said the football must land in the tank on the full, and stay in the tank.

If more than one competitors lands the ball in the tank, the prize will be shared. Kick For Cash is now in its third year. “The prize is yet to be won, but there have been several really close attempts the past two years,” said Oliver. Kick for Cash is part of a huge day of football and netball action at the QEO.

On the football field, Sandhurst and Golden Square contest the under-18s grand final from 9am, with the reserves clash between Sandhurst and Maryborough from 11.40am. There are six clubs represented in the netball play-offs.

CHALLENGE: Steven Oliver, Luke Owens, Adrian Deveraux, WaterStore’s Chris Kowalski, Ian Symons, Shane Jackson, Matt Hermann, Damian Keogh (Bendigo Advertiser promotions).

congrats to Chris Kowalski, when he was setting up the poly tank on the oval, he got to have a practise with the other guys, Chris was the only guy who kicked the footy straight into the tank!
